Are women welcome from outside Asheville?
Membership is open to women of all ages who live in Asheville and the surrounding areas.  We welcome women who are interested in meeting new people and participating in the activities of the club. 

How can I learn more about Asheville Newcomers Club? 
Attend a monthly meeting or a member coffee.

What is the age range of the club's members?
All ages are welcome to join. 

Is there a limit on how long a member can belong to the club?
No. 
Unlike some “newcomer” organizations,  Asheville Newcomers Club places no limits on length of membership.

What are the benefits of membership?

  • Monthly meetings with guest speakers.
  • A variety of special interest group activities and events.  See our ACTIVITIES page.
  • Password-controlled access to the members only section of the club's website.
  • Email invitations to the club-wide events, as well as to interest group activities for which the member has expressed an interest.

How long does my membership last?

  • Annual membership is from July 1 to June 30.  Dues are $50 a year.
  • New members who join during May and June are considered paid through the next membership year.
  • All members must renew their membership by paying dues at the beginning of each membership year.   

How do I join?

  • You can join the club online and pay dues online.  It’s quick and easy.  You have immediate access to sign up for special interest group activities and register for events, as well as access to the club’s newsletter with information about all the fun things offered. Click to JOIN.
  • You can join at one of the club’s monthly meetings.  Just talk with the Membership Chair to help you complete the registration form and pay dues. For questions about joining, contact the Membership Chair at  ashevillenewcomers@gmail.com
What is an interest group activity?
An interest group activity is a members-only opportunity to meet those with common interests and generally takes place weekly or monthly. The club offers diverse interest groups and is always open to adding new ones, based on member interests. Any member may propose a new interest group or volunteer to coordinate an existing one.

What is an event?
An event is a get-together varying in theme and venue and not held on a regular schedule. There is a charge for each group event, and space is limited. Members are notified via e-mail when an event is open for registration. Members can register and  pay online. 

Who can attend events and interest group activities?
Members may bring one guest to an event if specified. Most interest group activities are for members only, although some activities, such as Couples Dining allow a member to bring one guest.  

What are club rules and governance?

  • Each member agrees to the terms of the club’s Hold Harmless Agreement at the time they become a member, and they agree to the terms with each annual renewal. Click to view club's Member Hold Harmless Agreement.
  • The club is a non-profit, women’s social organization and is managed by a volunteer Board, elected by the membership. 
  • The club has a set of bylaws found on the club's website.
  • The club prohibits the promotion or solicitation of business interests or advertising of any kind at its activities, events, and website. 
  • Our club member directory is confidential.  Its use is for club purposes only.
